Beach Accesses are NOW OPEN!
Fort Myers Beach on Estero Island is a favorite destination of many locals, snowbirds and vacationers. The Island boasts seven miles of white sandy beaches along the Gulf of Mexico where the ocean floor slopes gently towards the horizon with no sudden drop-offs or big waves.
MOBI MATS HAVE BEEN RE-INSTALLED AT BEACH ACCESS 23, 27, 31-36. MATS WILL CONTINUE TO BE REINSTALLED AT ALL REAMAINING BEACH ACCESSES.
The Town of Fort Myers Beach maintains 29 public beach accesses on Estero Island, including Newton Beach Park and Seven Seas Cottage. These are marked and easily accessed from Estero Boulevard, the only thoroughfare through the Island. Many of the accesses also have public parking, and many are ADA accessible either by mobi mat or ramp.
See a map of the accesses.
The Lee County Parks and Recreation Department maintains Bowditch Point Park, Crescent Beach Park, Lynn Hall Pier and Memorial Park, and Matanzas Pass Preserve, which are in the Town of Fort Myers Beach.
The Beaches of Fort Myers and Sanibel is an additional resource for beach information.
