Island Wide Streetlight Project FPL Update! We understand there have been concerns regarding the recent removal of foundations along Estero Boulevard. We want to assure you that this work is necessary to ensure the highest standards of safety and quality.
During routine inspections, the project engineer identified structural inconsistencies in the first 30 foundations installed. These foundations did not meet the required specifications and did not pass inspection. To ensure long-term safety and compliance, we made the decision to remove and replace them. The new foundations will adhere to all structural requirements and standards set forth by the Lee County Department of Transportation. This will provide improved durability and safety for the community. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to deliver a safe, high-quality project for Fort Myers Beach.

FMB Fire is seeking your input! The Independent Special Fire Control Districts of Fort Myers Beach and Iona-McGregor are conducting a study to determine if merging the two districts could be operationally and financially beneficial for the taxpayers in both areas. The J Angle Group LLC has been hired as the consultant to conduct this study. A crucial part of this process involves gathering feedback from both internal and external (community) stakeholders. The survey that can be found at the link provided is specifically designed to collect feedback from the community’s stakeholders. JAG Associates will summarize and compile the results and include them in the study. Please note that this survey does not collect respondents' names (unless expressly provided), and the results will only be accessible to the JAG team. The survey should take a few minutes to complete. Since you can't save your progress, please ensure you have enough time to complete it in one sitting. We ask that all responses are received no later than noon on April 16, 2025

Sea Turtle Season begins on May 1st!Get your amber bulbs and black out curtains ready for Sea Turtle Nesting Season. Not all yellow and red bulbs are made equal - be sure to look for manufacturer specs that call out 560 nanometers (nm) or greater on the box. Black out curtains are best for windows to shield interior lighting, and if you’re under construction, please remind your contractor to turn off the lights at night and put up temporary curtains to block interior lights.
