Matanzas Pass Bridge Closure THIS WEEKEND!

The Matanzas Pass Bridge will be CLOSED on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 8:30am - 12:00pm for the Shrimp Festival 5K and Parade!

The bridge will remain open to pedestrians and bicyclists. Big Carlos Pass Bridge will remain open at this time. 

Estero Blvd will also be closed from the Fort Myers Beach Library to Times Square for the Parade, beginning at approximately 10:00am. Please plan accordingly.

Nighttime Lane Closure

March 13, 2025, there will be a nighttime lane shift for southbound traffic going onto the Matanzas Pass Bridge! 
According to FDOT, crews will shift the southbound lane going onto Matanzas Pass Bridge as early as 7:00pm on Thursday, March 13, 2025, weather pending. This lane shift will only be for one night as crews perform activities associated with the widening in the area.

REMINDER: Leash Requirement

According to chapter 6 section 31 of the Town of Fort Myers Beach Code of Ordinances, "For the duration of any time a dog is on any public property, or on any private property, other than that of its owner, to which the general public is customarily invited or permitted to enter, the owner of such dog must keep it under direct control via handheld leash not more than six feet in length."

St. Patrick's Day Parade Returns!


The Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club is proud to announce the return of the Fort Myers Beach St. Patricks’ Day Parade on Saturday March 15th at 10 am – starting at Santini Plaza and ending at the Woman’s Club property at 175 Sterling Ave on Fort Myers Beach. Sponsored by the King Family Foundation, this treasured event will be full of the blarney!

“We are happy to co-chair this special event and look forward to a great day of celebration and island camaraderie,” said Deb Nelson and Barb Mezeske, co-chairs. “We’re glad to be back!”

A Post Parade Tent Event will follow immediately after the parade from 11:00 - 3:00 pm at 175 Sterling Ave and will feature music, dancing, entertainment, food trucks, and free parking.

Prizes for best floats will also be awarded.

  • Non-Motorized $1000
  • Under 12 ft Trailer: $1000
  • Over $12 ft Trailer: $1000
