BOIL WATER NOTICE LIFTED

The Precautionary Boil Water Notice in effect for residents of the Town of Fort Myers Beach on Bay Beach Lane from Waterside I to Dolphin Pointe HAS BEEN LIFTED. 

Two consecutive days of satisfactory bacteriological water samples showed that the water is safe to drink. 

If you have any questions, you can contact the Utilities Department at 239-463-9914!

Canal cleanup is still underway! Contractors and Marine Operations staff are working hard in the hopes of finishing the project by the middle of this month!

DOH-Lee issues health alert for presence of red tide!


The Florida Department of Health in Lee County (DOH-Lee) has issued a health alert for the presence of red tide near the following locations:

- Blind Pass Beach

- Bokeelia Fishing Pier

- Bowditch Park Beach

REMINDER: Leash Requirement

According to chapter 6 section 31 of the Town of Fort Myers Beach Code of Ordinances, "For the duration of any time a dog is on any public property, or on any private property, other than that of its owner, to which the general public is customarily invited or permitted to enter, the owner of such dog must keep it under direct control via handheld leash not more than six feet in length."

St. Patrick's Day Parade Returns!


The Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club is proud to announce the return of the Fort Myers Beach St. Patricks’ Day Parade on Saturday March 15th at 10 am – starting at Santini Plaza and ending at the Woman’s Club property at 175 Sterling Ave on Fort Myers Beach. Sponsored by the King Family Foundation, this treasured event will be full of the blarney!

“We are happy to co-chair this special event and look forward to a great day of celebration and island camaraderie,” said Deb Nelson and Barb Mezeske, co-chairs. “We’re glad to be back!”

A Post Parade Tent Event will follow immediately after the parade from 11:00 - 3:00 pm at 175 Sterling Ave and will feature music, dancing, entertainment, food trucks, and free parking.

Prizes for best floats will also be awarded.

  • Non-Motorized $1000
  • Under 12 ft Trailer: $1000
  • Over $12 ft Trailer: $1000

Join a study by Independent Special Fire Control Districts of Fort Myers Beach and Iona McGregor!


The Independent Special Fire Control Districts of Fort Myers Beach and Iona McGregor are conducting a study to determine whether a merger of the two fire districts would be operationally and financially beneficial to the taxpayers of both districts. As part of this study, they would like your feedback and concerns about merging the districts.

FMB Fire District would like to invite you to participate in a community forum where they can provide you with information, answer your questions, and to learn your thoughts on merging the two fire districts. Your perspective is vital to those of who serve you.

The District and its consultants are interested in hearing your thoughts regarding:

Community Priorities - Which of the services provided by the fire districts are important to you? Which could you do without?

Concerns - What concerns might you have when considering merging these two districts?

Positives - What positives might you look for regarding the merger of these two districts?

Other Thoughts - What other ideas do you have to share regarding a merger of the districts?
