The Town of Fort Myers Beach has submitted the required Community Assistance Visit (CAV) responses to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), meeting the agency’s deadline of August 8, 2025. These responses address FEMA’s recent review and represent an important step toward improving the Town’s floodplain management practices.
Town officials will continue to conduct twice-daily calls with FEMA to address any remaining questions and provide supplemental documentation, as needed. FEMA is expected to respond to the Town’s submission during the week of August 18, 2025.
If FEMA’s response is favorable, the Town will proceed with its application for the Community Rating System (CRS) program, which has the potential to lower flood insurance premiums for residents.
The Town remains committed to maintaining close communication with FEMA and ensuring that all requirements are met in a timely and thorough manner.
