Town of Fort Myers Beach Submits Applications to the Lee County Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Infrastructure and Public Facilities Programs
The Town of Fort Myers Beach has submitted grant applications in the amount of $15,673,000.00 to the Lee County Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Infrastructure and Public Facilities Programs. These programs are part of the overall U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funding award to Lee County to support long‐term recovery efforts following Hurricane Ian.
The Town of Fort Myers Beach is seeking CDBG-DR funding through the Lee County Infrastructure and Public Facilities Programs to support necessary projects island-wide. These projects include North Island Water Tower and Facility and Parks and Recreation Projects. The Parks and Recreation Projects include Old San Carlos & Time Square Lighting Projects, Bay Oaks Community Pool Project, and Newton Park Beach Facility. Through these programs, the Town seeks to create improvements for the entire community in a continued effort toward recovery.
The Infrastructure and Public Facilities Programs are competitive programs available to municipalities within Lee County. All projects under these programs must meet a HUD National Objective as outlined by Lee County in the Action Plan.
